What's it like riding with the local Harley Owners Group (H.O.G) chapter
I was invited by a friend to attend the annual 4 day Alpine ride run by my local HOG chapter. I discovered 3 things and one of them came as a shock. Join me on my Harley Davidson Street Glide Special as I ride with Dandenong HOG and head to Bright Victoria for the Alpine ride.
I joined a 4-day Alpine ride with a H.O.G chapter in Victoria. Initially skeptical, I was pleasantly surprised by the organization and camaraderie among members. The ride started from Melbourne, taking scenic back roads to Bright, which made for a longer but more enjoyable journey. One whole day was spent riding the Alpine Roads of Mt Hotham. The group was impressively organized, with roles like the Road Captain ensuring smooth navigation and pre-ordered meals at pubs to save time. The H.O.G chapter felt like a family, welcoming and inclusive to all. Members shared their passion for Harley-Davidson bikes and their extensive riding experiences. Safety was paramount, overseen by a dedicated safety officer. Overall, I found the experience with the H.O.G chapter enjoyable and enriching, highlighting the strong community and shared love for riding.
