Harley Davidson survivor stories on the Million Dollar Bogan ride
There are three types of Harley Davidson riders that have survived. I just got back from the Million Dollar Bogan Lifeline ride along the picturesque coast of Victoria.
Join me as I throw my Street Glide Special around the bends of the Great Ocean Road and discuss this important issue in regard to mental health. (don't worry it's happy video)
There were three types of survivors on the Million Dollar Bogan Lifeline ride. Which one are you?
I just got back from the Million Dollar Bogan Lifeline ride raising money for suicide prevention. It was a ride along the beautiful Great Ocean Road on the surf coast here in Victoria. The motorcycle riders on this ride are the survivors. I call them survivors because most people have been beaten by life's hurdles and challenges.
I would categorizes survivors into three types, based on how they handle life's challenges: those who stay busy to avoid introspection, those who ignore problems altogether, and those who adopt a gratitude attitude.
Busy types use constant activity as a coping mechanism, whether through work, exercise, or other distractions, to avoid dwelling on past or current issues.
Ignorers suppress their emotions and project a facade of normalcy, often leading to superficial and emotionally shallow lives until a significant event forces them to confront suppressed feelings.
The gratitude attitude involves actively seeking positives in every situation, even challenging ones, turning adversity into opportunities for growth and thankfulness.
I talk with participants of the ride, showcasing their motorcycles and discussing personal struggles with depression and the coping mechanisms they employ.
We’ll hear personal stories of how riding motorcycles helps us cope with stress and maintain a positive outlook on life, emphasizing the therapeutic benefits of riding.
A charity auction during the event raises significant funds for Lifeline, with emotional moments as participants bid generously and support each other.
It’s so important to adopt a grateful mindset as a daily practice, akin to exercise to cultivate genuine positivity and resilience.
