This Performance Harley Exhaust Wakes The Dead
This might be one of the craziest videos I've done. Join me on my Street Glide Special as I check out this performance Harley and test if this exhaust is loud enough to wake the dead. What a surprise!
I get a lot of comments and emails from people who just don't believe loud pipes save lives so let's clear up some misconceptions as we have a little fun.
Let’s set the record straight—when I talk about loud pipes saving lives, I’m not saying noise alone makes you safe. It’s about making sure drivers hear you, not just being obnoxiously loud.
Today we’re checking out two different exhaust setups—my bike’s got mufflers, so it’s not super loud, while Eric’s bike is equipped with a performance exhaust that’s enough to shake the ground.
Eric’s bike is on another level with its 128 kit, ported cylinders, aggressive cam, and other mods. It’s way louder and more powerful than my bike, which is pretty quiet by comparison.
When you hot up your engine, you’re increasing compression and airflow, which means more noise. So, even with different exhausts, a hotted up Harley is going to be loud.
We decided to have some fun and see if Eric’s ridiculously loud bike could wake the dead—literally. We’re at a cemetery to test if our noise can stir up any ghosts.
We’ve got an EMF meter and some ghost-detection apps to see if we can pick up any paranormal activity. The idea is that if our loud pipes don’t wake the dead, then maybe nothing will.
After revving Eric’s bike, the ghost-hunting equipment went wild. It looked like we might actually be stirring up some supernatural activity, which was pretty cool and a bit eerie.
Despite the ghostly antics, I’m serious when I say loud pipes help. They make a difference in getting noticed, which is a safety feature we shouldn’t ignore.
I’ve heard people say loud pipes are just a lame excuse for making noise. But even a bit of noise makes you more visible compared to a completely quiet bike, and that’s what really matters.
If you’re into Harleys and want to dive deeper into this topic, check out the video above. There’s plenty more to explore beyond the ghosts and the noise.
