Standard Harley Davidsons - Why you should be grateful

Let's talk about why you should be grateful for the standard Harley Davidsons that come from the factory or the dealer. Join me on my Street Glide Special as I ride the the Harley Heaven show & shine and check out some awesome custom bikes.

Today, we’re diving into standard Harley-Davidsons and exploring why we should be thankful for them. A lot of folks gripe about Harleys being overpriced and needing extra cash for upgrades.

We’ll check out a bike show where you’ll see some stunning custom Harleys, far beyond the standard model you’d get from the dealer. It’s a real “dress to impress” event for motorcycles.

Many trolls claim Harleys are big, slow, heavy, and a ripoff, suggesting they should be smaller, lighter, cheaper, and faster. What do you think? Should they change?

Imagine Mr. Harley-Davidson’s ideal customer. He’s probably a well-off guy over 40 who likes the idea of freedom and rebellion, even if he’s got a 9-to-5 job and a family.

Harley bikes are built for comfort, not speed. They stick to their classic V-twin engine for that distinctive sound and low-end torque, ideal for cruisers.

They’re not designing bikes for niche groups. With only a small percentage of tall people, Harley focuses on the average rider, which is around 5’9” and a bit chubby.

Harley-Davidson bikes cost more because they’re a niche product compared to the millions sold by Honda or Yamaha. They have to cover costs and make a profit, which includes dealer support and marketing.

Despite some complaints, Harley dealers are great. You get to talk to enthusiasts, often enjoy a free coffee, and experience a strong community vibe.

The ability to easily modify your Harley with aftermarket parts is a huge plus. It’s all about personalizing your ride to fit your style and preferences.

Indian Motorcycles, their main competitor, has similar pricing and models, which keeps Harley-Davidson on its toes. This competition helps drive innovation and keeps prices in check.

So, be grateful for the Harley-Davidson universe that lets you customize and enjoy your bike. Check out the video linked for more on this topic!
