Is motorcycle riding dangerous? I think the statistics are lying to us but either way there are hazards that all motorcyclists face. Here are the top 5 common hazards and how to avoid them.

Join me as I ride my Harley Davidson Street Glide Special and discuss the difficulties we encounter riding - one of these hazards is hard for many people to face and one involves the Police so "Goody two-shoes" beware

Is motorcycle riding dangerous?

I challenge the perception of motorcycle danger, suggesting statistics are skewed by irresponsible riders.

Hazard 1: Corners: Mastering cornering techniques like counter steering, body positioning, and avoiding oil slicks at intersections are crucial for safe riding.

Hazard 2: Yourself and Others: Ego can lead to overestimating skills or risky behavior. Caution during group rides due to varying skill levels is advised.

Hazard 3: Obstacles: Focusing on avoiding animals, gravel, or debris on roads can lead to the danger of target fixation.

Hazard 4: Government and Police: Speed limits originate from a push to conserve fuel, I’ll discuss this as well as speed cameras and police practices.

Hazard 5: Other Vehicles: Cars and trucks are major hazards due to their size and unpredictability. Maintaining distance and avoiding vulnerable positions in traffic is crucial.

I encourage riders to use available resources and techniques for safer riding, stressing personal responsibility and awareness on the road.
